It probably would have been a lot smoother if everyone (including me) had done his or her part to publish solid content and keep topics relevant with honesty .

One might think that it’s inevitable when a good thing surfaces (like Social Marketing) the spammers, spoogers and shady characters will suck it dry of any opportunity it possesses.

In this writers opinion nothing could be further from the truth.

What if instead better equipped Social venues emerged on the pay-to-play or don’t play at all front?

Social sites like Squidoo, e-Zine Articles, Google Knol and Hub Pages and others have already learned their lesson when it comes to cracking down on spammers, spoogers and some good old-fashioned pond scum marketers. 

This year more now than ever promises the evolution of deep niche-specific social networks for people – along with other broad web properties to cater to even more niche specific groups.

It will be your job to infiltrate these member/user areas in a way that helps the community with true value so that your relationships are branded as trusting and honest and not as a blood-sucking leech in their online society.

Social networking will also play an important role in on-the-go advertising. Mobile has already evolved into a new sort of social marketing.

Adults and kids social network from their mobile devices – logging into Facebook, Tweeting about everyday actions they’re engaged in.

You’ll become part of the common mass marketing strategy already being tested in many markets today.

I’m curious what the next 7 months of 2010 might bring. More of what it already has? We’ll see.
